Foundations that Kiss and Makeup with Your Wrinkles

[ 0 ] February 4, 2012 |

In America there’s an all out war against wrinkles. Before I review the heavy artillery (needles, lasers, or lifts), I’d like to recommend five wrinkle-softening foundations to consider adding to your beauty arsenal.

Wrinkles be damned if you stay away from the powdery, shimmering crap and cover with care with these Oscar worthy makeup lines.

ColorScience ($45)

wrinklesMade by the founder of Bare Escentuals. This mineral-based cosmetic line utilizes nanotechnology to create products that help heal and protect damaged skin. The natural mineral content in these products imparts color and reflects light, resulting in natural-looking makeup and skin.

Smashbox High Definition FX Foundation ($38)

wrinklesAn oil-free foundation with time-released moisturizers and Vitamin C. Said to have ingredients to make your skin firmer and flawless lasting all day.

Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector ($26)
wrinklesBest coverage for age spots. Said to help diminish age spots in six to eight weeks.  A dermatologist-developed liquid foundation that immediately brightens and evens out the skintone with naturally luminous minerals.

Elizabeth Arden Intervene Makeup ($36)
wrinklesOil-free and great for those of us who are starting to see fine lines and wrinkles. Currently get raves reviews from women and bloggers who claim that it will give your skin a firmer look and actually delay the appearance of wrinkles.

Oxygenetix ($66)

wrinklesSold by LovelySkin for problem skin and especially helpful after post face treatments or surgeries because it’s an oxygenating foundation allowing the skin to breathe. Said to help cover, heal and minimize a wide variety of skin problems such as skin injuries, wounds, rashes, dry skin, scars, and rosacea.

Of course the best amo for glowing skin, beyoung heredity and a life without sun, is a great alkaline (low acid) diet, lots of water like Faith Hill’s 90 oz a day habit, and great skincare which you can read about in my How to Look Like Faith Hill (Part II) blog.

Note: There’s lots of great makeups I didn’t cover here (no pun intended) such as LaMer, but I just couldn’t bring myself to review products that cost more than $80 a bottle. Please.

What’s your makeup brand and secrets? Care to share?
