Paleo Workshop Reveals Why We Gain Weight
I’m documenting the weight-loss transformation of 45 women who are going full Paleo and high intensity training for the next 90 days starting in the morning.
So I attended a Paleo workshop Saturday and it was fantastic as was the food that was cooked by a chef from Friends that Cooks. He whipped up some Sausage Scramble, Kale Chips, Jicama Apple Slaw, Chicken Fajita Salad and Rosemary Crusted Turkey Tenderloin. (Believe it or not, I could have their service come cook for me as little as $100 a week plus food, not bad).
Afterwards we got to sample some Paleo desserts, which were also incredible. I loved the brownies that had a chili pepper kick so I’ve included that recipe below as well as the turkey tenderloin. I hope you’ll try both. If you need more recipes get The Paleo Diet by Loren Cordain or It Starts with Food by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig. Also here is a link to some Paelo apps you can download for free or just $5.
The leader of the workshop, Tina Sprinkle of Pilates 1901, shared that when we eat processed foods, sugars, wheat, alcohol, and dairy, we create substantial hormone imbalances in our bodies, wreak havoc on our gut, promote inflammation and make ourselves feel run down and tired. By eliminating these foods, you body heals and recovers, therefore increasing energy and decreasing muffin tops. (I won’t even get into the GMO issues with genetically modified grains, but Paleo bypasses this health concern by avoiding all grains).

They came, they saw, they signed up to commit to 90 days of Paleo diet and high intensity Pilates. The proof will be in the fashion show Nov. 10. Oh boy.
The proof will be in 45 women’s missing muffin tops in 90 days. They’ve raised their hands to participate fully, which include before and after pictures, which I’ll share here on my blog through Thanksgiving.
